Privacy Policy
EilaGirl · Last updated: 20 July 2026
EilaGirl ("we", "our", "the app") is a women's health app for PCOS
and perimenopause management. Your health data is sensitive, and this
policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and the controls you
have over it.
1. What we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may process:
- Cycle, symptom, flow, and mood entries you log
- Trying-to-conceive (TTC) and postpartum tracking data
- Your health condition profile (e.g. PCOS, perimenopause details)
- Intimacy/intercourse data, if you choose to log it
- Basic account information (e.g. email) if you create an account
All entries above are optional — you control what you log, and you can
enable Anonymous Mode to reduce what's tied to your
identity.
2. How your data is stored
-
Your data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted store
(AES-256, per-user keys).
-
Cloud sync is off by default. If you turn it on,
your data syncs to our Firebase backend so it's available across
your devices; intimacy data has its own separate sync toggle and
stays off unless you explicitly enable it.
3. Permissions we request
EilaGirl asks for as few device permissions as possible. Here is
exactly what we request and why:
-
Notifications: used to send you cycle, symptom
check-in, and reminder alerts you've enabled in the app (e.g. flow
check-in reminders, getting-ready reminders). We do not use
notifications for advertising, and you can disable them at any time
from Notification Settings or your device's system settings.
-
Run at device startup (Android "receive boot completed"):
lets the app re-schedule your reminder notifications after you
restart your phone, so a reboot doesn't silently cancel reminders
you set up. This permission is not used to run the app in the
background for any other purpose, and it does not give us access to
any other data on your device.
EilaGirl does not request access to your camera,
microphone, contacts, location, or photo library. Sharing a data
export (see "Your controls" below) uses your device's normal share
sheet, which does not require any additional permission grant.
4. How we use your data
- To show you your own cycle, symptom, and health history in the app
- To sync your data across your devices, only if you enable sync
-
We do not sell your health data, and we do not use it for
third-party advertising.
5. Your controls
-
Export: download a copy of your data (with or
without intimacy data) at any time from the Privacy Center.
-
Delete: permanently delete your data — local
and, if synced, cloud copies — from the Privacy Center.
-
Anonymous Mode: reduces identifying information
associated with your logged data.
6. Data sharing
We do not share your personal health data with third parties, except:
-
Infrastructure providers (e.g. Firebase/Google Cloud) that host
the app's backend and are bound by their own data-processing
agreements
- Where required by law
7. Data security
Local data is encrypted at rest. Data transmitted to our cloud backend
is encrypted in transit. Access to any synced data is scoped to your
authenticated account.
8. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account exists or until you
delete it via the in-app Privacy Center. Deletion is permanent and
cannot be undone.
9. Children's privacy
EilaGirl is not directed at children and is not intended for users
under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be
reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
11. Related policies
See our Terms of Service and
Data Deletion Policy for more on how
the app may be used and how to remove your data.
